Djibouti and several other members of the Inter-Governmental Authority on African Development (IGAD) agreed in April 2005 to form an Eastern Africa Standby Brigade (EASBRIG). The rapid-reaction force is expected eventually to number around 3,000 troops, with support from 13 IGAD member countries.
