SANCAR

Country of Origin: Turkey

The SANCAR is a multi-role Autonomous Unmanned Surface Vessel (AUSV) designed to minimize risk to personnel across port protection, search and rescue, and mine countermeasure missions. It offers COLREG-compliant autonomous navigation and fully integrated network-centric command capabilities.

The AUSV is equipped with a 12.7 mm remote station and a 2x2 surface-to-surface missile launcher; the vessel is also supported by side-scan sonar, an integrated Launch & Recovery System (LARS), redundant communications, and a mobile Ground Control Station.

On June 17, 2022, HAVELSAN announced the launch of SANCAR, developed with Yonca-Onuk Shipyard, as the first autonomous naval vessel integrated with the ADVENT Combat Management System.

On Feb. 21, 2025, Janes reported that Yonca-Onuk showcased the prototype at the Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition 2025, announced an upcoming delivery to the Turkish Defense Industry Agency, and revealed plans for a 22-meter variant.

On Sept. 15, 2025, HAVELSAN and the Turkish Navy completed live-fire trials using a 12.7 mm weapon system.

On Feb. 25, 2026, Naval News reported that the Turkish Navy officially commissioned SANCAR into service at Aksaz Naval Base.
