The XM1216 small unmanned ground vehicle (SUGV) was first developed for the U.S. Army as part of the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program; the FCS was subsequently abandoned. The robot itself is based on iRobot's PackBot unmanned ground vehicle.
While the FCS program has been cancelled, acquisition of the SUGV continues.
