There were 15 of these Chinese-built gun craft transferred in 1967-1969 to North Korea, having being built specifically for Pyongyang. The design is based on the earlier Chinese SHANGHAI-I** class, which is slightly smaller and has a different gun armament (and is no longer in Chinese service).
