LAEP stands for Lancha de Apolo ao Ensino e Patrulha (instruction support and patrol launch). Built in several variants between 1995/1998. The original five LAEP-10 variants and 15 LAEP-7 launches were ordered from Estaleiro Wilson Sons, Guaruja, on Oct. 16, 1996.
