On Jan. 10, 2005, the Royal Netherlands Navy contracted with Damen Shipyards Gorinchem to design and build its latest logistic support vessel (LSV). The PELIKAAN (A-804) replaced PELIKAAN (A-801), a converted offshore supply ship, which has since been stricken.
