Purchased from the United Kingdom in January 1992, this oiler sailed to Indonesia in September 1992 following a refit at the Swan Hunter shipyard, in Wallsend in northeast England.

The helicopter deck can handle a helicopter up to the size of a Sea King (SH-3). There is no hangar.
