These Polish-built ships are units of the most numerous landing ship class to be built since World War II. Poland built 44 ships of this general design for the Soviet navy plus 31 ships for export; 23 additional ships were built for the Polish navy. There were several variants, indicated by suffix letters (POLNOCHNY A through D).
