This ship was specifically built for Yemen. The design was originally developed for export to India, but India did not order any of the ships. She departed Polish waters on May 24, 2002, arriving in Aden on Aug. 1, 2002.
In addition to the amphibious role, she can be used as a cadet training ship and in disaster relief.
