The Hen Roost** radar was an anti-ballistic missile (ABM ) large phased-array radar (LPAR) that consisted of separate transmitter and receiver buildings, each with one 300-ft (91-m) long phased-array radar face. The LPARs were said to have much greater ability to track and classify multiple targets, but reportedly were limited in their discrimination and in their resistance to electromagnetic pulse (EMP).
