The Voronezh radar forms part of Russia's new early warning system. It is designed to monitor all potential directions from which ballistic missiles could be launched. Voronezh radars also replaced older Dnepr ( Hen House **) systems in Ukraine in Mukachevo and Sevastopol that Russia previously used for monitoring.
