The SSQ-904 and SSQ-905 LOFAR (location finding and ranging) sonobuoys are F-size sonobuoys that have the same operating characteristics as the original Jezebel, but are one-third as long (12 in; 305 mm) and half the weight. They have the same diameter as the Jezebel.
The F-size sonobuoys are compatible with the current AN/AQA-5 signal processor, as well as with the AQS-901, -902 and -903 systems under development.
The SSQ-904 can work with most Western acoustic processors.
