Jezebel was a passive, omnidirectional narrowband sonobuoy used for the detection of submerged submarines. Produced by Ultra Electronics, it was based on the SSQ-48 sonobuoy and featured improved frequency response and greater hydrophone depth range.
Two versions of the Jezebel were developed: one could be deployed to depths of 60 ft (18 m) and 300 ft (91 m); a second could deploy to depths of 60 ft (18 m) and 450 ft (137 m).
