The Type 2059 is a hull-mounted, acoustic tracking system installed in the British mine countermeasures ships sent to the Persian Gulf in 1987-1988. The system tracks the position of the PAP 104 mine-disposal vehicle in relation to the ship.

The transducer can send out signals at 22, 23.5, 25, 26 and 28 kHz and the transponder on the PAP 104 replies with a 30-kHz signal. With five sending frequencies, the system can track up to five mine-disposal vehicles at once.
