The Type 2046 is a long-range, wide-band, towed-array sonar designed for the British Royal Navy's nuclear-propulsion attack submarines.
The array is at least 165 feet (50 meters) long. The main functions of the Type 2046 are to detect, classify and track enemy targets without being detected.
