The Diodon is an active-detection, target-tracking and attack sonar for small- and medium-size anti-submarine surface ships developed as a lower cost alternative to the DUBA 25.
The cylindrical transducer unit can be hull-mounted in a fixed or retractable dome, or as a towed variable-depth sonar (VDS). It has 24 staves, each of which has six transducers.
