These are submarine under-ice, mine-avoidance and target-detection-and-tracking sonars.

BQS-14A sonars, a further development of the BQS-14, were deployed aboard a former STURGEON-class submarine, the PARCHE (no longer in service).

The BQS-15 and BQS-24 MIDAS (mine- and ice-detection-avoidance sonars) are deployed aboard U.S. LOS ANGELES -, OHIO - and SEAWOLF-class submarines. All three systems are integrated into these submarines' primary sonars (AN/BQQ-5 or AN/BQQ-6).
