The STING is a lightweight radar for small ships based on the STIR radar. It has a hydraulic drive for increased slewing and elevating speeds. It operates in the I- and K-bands.
The system is modular, with a number of variants, including the basic STING-BS; STING-CW, with a continuous wave illuminator; STING-EO, with infrared camera, laser and television tracker; and STING-SW, featuring a command link, gyro and gathering unit for missiles.
