Scout low probability intercept (LPI) radar

The Scout is a low probability of intercept (LPI) radar system designed for shipboard surveillance and navigation.

The system has detection characteristics similar to the AN/BPS-16 and other navigation radars, but the Scout uses a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) transmit waveform. This enables it to detect a target before the target's electronic support measures detect the Scout.
