The French Jupiter two-dimensional (2-D) air search radar began development as the export version of the DRBV 23 radar (with the designation THD 1077). A later variant of the Jupiter -- Jupiter II (TRS 3011) -- was adopted by the French navy as the DRBV 26. The Jupiter was renamed the Jupiter I wit h the introduction of the Jupiter II.
