The TRS 2201 is a three-dimensional air-defense radar. The 3-D capability enables the system to scan aircraft within a designated sphere rather than only altitude or distance. The TRS 2201 has a very long range, being able to survey distances out to 248.5 nm (285 mi; 460 km).
