The RA20S fire-control radar is a modification of the earlier RA20. The two have similar characteristics except the RA20S is designed for mounting on air defense units with small caliber guns or turrets (up to 25 mm). The pulse-Doppler system has a 143-lb (65-kg) console supporting a modified parabolic antenna. It allows low-altitude surveillance of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft to within 7.5 mi (12 km) of the platform.
