The MPDR 16 is the target acquisition radar installed in the Roland surface-to-air missile launch vehicle. It is a pulse-Doppler system; its antenna can scan a 360-degree sector. Ground clutter is eliminated due to the Doppler processor.
The pulse-Doppler radar operates in the D-band (1-2 GHz). Target acquisition range is 0.9 mi (1.5 km) to 10.2 mi (16.5 km). The 2 m x 1 m antenna rotates at 60 rpm. An MSR-400 Mk XII identification-friend-or-foe (IFF) interrogator is integrated....
