The Cake** series of ground-based height-finding radars have large, peel-shaped nodding antennas with horizontal beam widths of 3 to 5 degrees and vertical beam widths of 1 to 5 degrees. The antenna "nods" mechanically at the rate of 30-40 cycles per minute.
