The AN/TPS-63 is a low-level, tactical air defense radar. It is also used for air-traffic control operations. The radar is available in transportable or stationary configurations. The sectional antenna is stored in the operations shelter for movement and can be set up in about one hour.
The radar was designed to meet U.S. Marine Corps requirements and features extensive use of microelectronic and solid-state techniques.
