The AN/FPS-6 is a nodding height-finding radar that has been subsequently improved to form the AN/FPS-89 and, in mobile form, the AN/MPS-14 radar systems (see separate database entries). As the FPS-6, it is not a mobile system, but is installed in two possible tower configurations, varying with the site's climatic zone (Arctic or Temperate).
