The Expendable Neutralization Device (END) is a relatively cheap sweeping/jamming system designed to defeat bottom influence mines. It is intended to fill a capability gap in shallow water mine countermeasure operations, where collateral damage might be an issue, such as within the confines of a ha rbor.
