Country of Origin: Germany
The German Buck-Wegmann shipboard decoy system fires chaff (Silver Dog) and infrared (IR) (Hot Dog) grenades from deck-mounted launchers.
Each ship is fitted with 12- or 24-tube systems, divided equally between port and starboard. The grenades can be fired individually or in an automatic sequence of shots, the latter method resulting in a chaff cloud in less than two seconds. Launchers can be loaded with a mixture of chaff and IR gre nades.
