The U.S.-developed APECS II is a modular electronic warfare system incorporating both passive (intercepting) and active (jamming) equipment. It is designed for use on a number of classes of vessels from fast patrol boats to destroyers.
The system is fully automatic, has a phased-array antenna, and can identify radar signals by using instantaneous frequency measurement (IFM) receivers.
