The AN/AAR-44 is the most recent version of the passive AAR-44 IR missile warning system. It is an infrared (IR) warning receiver that provides notification of ground-launched missile attacks. The system is suitable for transport airplanes and large helicopters, with the equipment usually mounted o n the rear underside of the aircraft fuselage.
