The Active Denial System (ADS) is a non-lethal millimeter beam weapon. Millimeter beams are electromagnetic waves that are about 100 times shorter and more powerful than microwaves. The millimeter-wave generator sends the waves to the antenna, which aims and focuses the beam. The ADS uses a 95 GHz millimeter wave that travels at the speed of light.
