The WMD-7 is a targeting pod designed for day and night operations. It is capable of searching, identifying, tracking and designating land and sea targets. It does not offer a low-level navigation capability.
The electro-optical system incorporates infrared, charge-coupled device (CCD) TV camera and a laser designator. It offers automatic target tracking and provides target range and location data to weapon systems. The system can also provide visual scans of target areas.
