The AN/APY-8 Lynx is the first airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to be procured for unmanned vehicles (UAV). Jointly developed by General Atomics and Sandia National Laboratories, the radar's first production examples are underwent trials on U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force aircraft as well as on a Canadian army I-GNAT UAV.
