The APS-144 is a lightweight airborne surveillance radar designed for battlefield, border and maritime interdiction applications.
It was originally developed for the Grisly Hunter program. (Grisly Hunter began development in 1986.)
The radar has been part of the EO-5 Airborne Low Reconnaissance (ARL) system, which uses converted four-engine De Havilland Canada DHC-7 commuter airliners. (DHC-7s are no longer in military use in Canada.)
