The AIDA family is made up of French range-finding radars for retrofitting in aircraft that originally went into service without a radar.
It can automatically search, acquire, estimate range and track targets in air-to-air, air-to-sea and air-to-ground attacks.
The AIDA has a fixed, horizontally polarized antenna with a dielectric lens; the radar scans a 16-degree cone. Gain is a relatively modest 18 dB and ranges are relatively short.
