The RT-15/SS-14 was a missile derived from the solid-fueled SS-13 Savage, which used the top two tandem, solid-propellant stages of the latter as an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM).
It had a maximum range of 1,593 nm (1,833 mi, 2,950 km) carrying a single 500 kt to 1 mt warhead. The missile had an inertial guidance system that was estimated to have a CEP of about 0.5 nm (0.6 mi, 0.9 km).
