Cholera Bacterium

Cholera is an infection caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae, and acquired through the ingestion of contaminated water or food. The disease manifests as a watery (secretory) diarrhea so profuse that supplies of IV fluids are often exhausted during epidemics.
