The LRV-17 long-range vessel is a small boat designed for anti-piracy, maritime asset protection, high-speed transportation and search-and-rescue (SAR) operations. The vessel was designed for fuel efficiency and rough sea operation, according to the manufacturer, Zyvex Marine (Bothell, Wash). It is the first crewed vessel built with nano-composites.
