This Finnish-built large patrol craft was the first Finnish Frontier Guard ship to have a sonar. She was transferred from Finland to Latvia on Sept. 25, 2002. The Finnish name was retained.

The VALPAS is in active service and subordinated to the Latvian coast guard.
