The Shyena is a domestically developed lightweight anti-submarine torpedo in service with the Indian navy.
The Shyena, based on the Italian A244S light torpedo, features 95 percent indigenous components. The exceptions include integrated circuits and sensors.
The processor-based torpedo incorporates solid-state electronics, digital technology and an integrated sensor package for homing. The shell is made of composite fiber-reinforced plastic.
