description
The YJ-12 is a Chinese-developed air-launched, long-range, supersonic anti-ship cruise missile. The missile is designed to perform evasive maneuvers during the terminal phase of an engagement, making it harder to shoot down.
The missile resembles the Russian Kh-31 (AS-17 Krypton) or the U.S. GQM-163A Coyote supersonic sea-skimming target. The YJ-12 employs ramjet technology to reach very high speeds.
The missile is liquid-fueled with a combined booster and combustion chamber.
