PROM-2 was a pressure- or pull-actuated bounding APERS land mine.
It reportedly used extremely sensitive trip-line sensors. Pressure on the fuze, static discharge from the breaking of the trip-line sensor or by just being touched by the human body would activate this mine.
An unknown number of steel balls used for the fragmentation effect were embedded into the mine's plastic body casing.
