The Israeli Python 3 infrared (IR) homing, air-to-air missile (AAM) is a development of the earlier Shafrir AAM (see separate database entry).
The Python 3 has swept tail surfaces and longer exhaust nozzle than the Shafrir. Both resemble the earlier U.S. AIM-9 Sidewinder and share the latter's "rolleron" stabilizing system.
