The Polonez multiple rocket system was developed for the Belarusian army to accurately attack hostile personnel, artillery, missile systems, air defense systems, airfields and armored and unarmored vehicles, including those under shelter.
The Polonez is intended to replace the older Uragan and Smerch artillery rocket systems in the Belarusian army service.
The system is based on the Chinese A200 missile design and was built with assistance from China.
