The Vilkha-M is a modernized variant of the Ukrainian Vilkha multiple-launch rocket system, which was derived from the Soviet-era BM-30 Smerch MLRS. It is designed to attack assembly areas for infantry, armor and soft targets as well as naval bases and coastal infrastructure. The entire system is designed and produced in Ukraine.
The name Vilkha means "Alder tree" in Ukrainian.
