This Israeli 290-mm multiple rocket launcher (MRL) has fin-stabilized rockets that are launched from four tubes on a British Centurion tank chassis. (An earlier version was fitted on an M4 Sherman chassis using frame racks.)
The MAR-290 can fire four rockets in 10 seconds. Tube-laying and reloading gear are hydraulically powered.
Development of the rockets began in 1965. It achieved initial operational capability (IOC) in the late 1960s. The system is still in service.
