The BM-24 is an obsolescent 12-rail, 240-mm multiple rocket system that provides fire support for Russian ground forces. It is usually mounted on a 6 x 6 ZIL-157 chassis, although tank divisions fielded a tracked version at one time.
Initial operational capability (IOC) was reached in the early 1950s. No longer in production. Largely replaced in Russian service by the BM-21.
