The Kung Feng VI is a 117-mm multiple rocket launcher (MRL) that consists of a single bank of 45 rockets mounted on a traversable pedestal. The launching unit is typically carried on a U.S. M52A1 5-ton truck with two stabilizers at the rear of the vehicle that are lowered during firing.
The development by the Sun Yat-Sen Scientific Research Institute began in 1978. Initial operational capability (IOC) was reached with the Taiwanese army in 1982.
