This cluster bomb combines the versatile RBK-500 (razovaya bombovaya kasseta,"one-use bombing cartridge") dispenser with 268 PTAB-1M ( protivotankovaya aviatsionnaya bomba,"anti-tank aviation bomb") bomblets. It can destroy large formations of armored vehicles either on the move or dispersed over a wide area.
The RBK-500 PTAB-1M is generally deployed from high-speed attack aircraft traveling from 270 knots to 650 knots (500 kph to 1,200 kph) and at altitudes from 985 ft to 65,600...
