The Popeye is a medium-range TV- or imaging infrared-guided air-to surface missile intended for use against high-value ground targets, including airfields, bridges and bunkers. It was designated the AGM-142 Have Nap by the U.S.

Powered by a solid-propellant motor, the Popeye I is armed with either a standard high-explosive (HE) fragmentation warhead or a high-penetration warhead for use against hardened/buried targets.
